free Lab funGrade 11/12 students also had their free lab where they were able to choose a recipe of their choice and make it for themselves to enjoy. How great were the spicy noodle dishes; chicken pot pie; deer meat chow mein; perfectly seasoned, tender steak and asparagus; German baked apple treats, and mountain of nachos.
Free Lab Foods 9/10
Students in Foods 9/10 have had their first free lab where they were challenged to find a yummy recipe,bring the needed ingredients and prepare their food to showcase to the class. Students enjoyed preparing brownies, cookies, a big breakfast, mini pretzels, German food and Mexican tacos and salsa ... all made from scratch. Teacher: Holly Adkins, taught at John Peterson and South Kamloops Secondary for 15 years and now I am back at Sa-Hali, Fall 2015. I have taught Foods and Nutrition. and Textiles in the Kamloops School District for many years and have made my way back to Sa-Hali. I have a passion for teaching students about delicious and nutritious foods. I am excited for this wonderful opportunity to come full circle to create and learn with the students here!

It was an exciting day of busy hands and creative thinking on what colours to mix and what cookies to 'paint' with the brightness of the season.
